I’m just finishing a book by Mark Manson, titled The Subtle Art of not Giving a Fu*k and I’m loving it.

It’s all about not taking things personally and as an artist, I know this can be such a stumbling block for many of us.

One part of a small chapter had real gravity for me...

Spring is such a vibrant season, bringing with it warming qualities of new life, hope and potential. This autumn, felt like an opportunity to take stock, digest the learnings from the spring and summer and plant seeds of something special or a goal to work on over winter. I call it autumn planting even if I’m not gardening as such.

Ever wanted to create with the freedom of colour? Would you like to step over the realism line in the sand with your art? Ready to add more atmosphere to your style?

Whatever the reason, freely adding extra colour to your work can be such a joy in the creative process and can add buoyancy to your art.

Stop searching for inspiration and let inspiration find you! (video)

Controversial, I know. We often think that inspiration is something we achieve, attain and hold onto but reality can be the opposite, like trying hold smoke in our hands, the more we grasp, the less we have.
